ABOUT

WORD FOR WORD is a small language-focused studio making social & emotional inquiries into being alive & trying to survive in the early 21st Century.

We make gifts and paper goods from a social justice perspective. We're queer + sick owned, and have been making original pinback button designs for over 13 years! Buttons help folks share who they are and what they care about, with the world around them. Speaking out on injustice in our everyday lives can be exhausting, but buttons make it possible even on the days you feel burnt out.

When you place a order with us you can count on superior quality from product to packaging. Our buttons are designed, printed, punched, pressed & packaged in our Los Angeles studio as are our hot foil stationery, laser cut acrylics & riso prints. We care deeply about consistent high quality craftsmanship & make it a priority every single day.

Giving back is a foundation of our brand. We donate a portion of our proceeds to social justice organizations that center & support women, queer, trans, black & brown lives. Donation information is detailed in applicable product listings.

Word For Word Factory is a studio project of Los Angeles based interdisciplinary artist Nicole C. Russell, who's been working with color & language, and questioning life under capitalism, for over 20 years.

Thanks for taking the time to look around. Please drop us a message if you have any questions.
